The new season of Game of Thrones is still a few months away, but one thing’s for sure, Winter is Coming. In the next couple of months, many of you will begin to see snowfall coupled with bitter cold, and now is the time to start getting prepared.
In our recent webinar, Winter Weather Preparedness: Predictions and Best Practices with WDT, Jason Lynn, SVP Forecast Services, WDT, said we probably won’t see the same level of prolonged cold as we did during last year’s Polar Vortex, however there’s a good chance we’ll see five to seven day stretches of bitter cold going through January, February and even March. In terms of snowfall, Jason expects a few areas in the U.S. to hit the jackpot—Central and Southern Rocky Mountains, Ohio Valley and Southern Great Lakes.
When this severe winter weather hits your area, a multitude of challenges will arise surrounding how you communicate with employees, citizens and others. With a critical communication system, you’re able to reach these contacts, and confirm that they are safe, no matter what type of severe weather arrives.
