Everbridge Achieves U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designation and Certification

BURLINGTON, Mass.–Everbridge, a leading global provider in unified critical communications, today announced that the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has designated and certified the company under the SAFETY Act (Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology). This marks an important milestone for Everbridge and our customers. Pursuant to the SAFETY Act, the designation provides legal liability protections to both Everbridge and our customers in the result of technology failures during a DHS declared terrorist attack. Applications on the Everbridge critical communications platform are now on the DHS SAFETY Act’s “Approved Technologies List.”

“Receiving the SAFETY Act designation was something our company took very seriously and we are pleased to have met this challenging goal on behalf of our customers,” said Imad Mouline, CTO of Everbridge. “Our corporate and public safety users can now continue utilizing critical communications to ensure continuity of operations worry free—without any legal liability burden, should our technology be compromised during a terror attack.”

The SAFETY Act was created to provide legal liability protections for providers of Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technologies. The goal of the Act is to spark the development and deployment of effective anti-terrorism products and services. Meeting the specific requirements for certification is a challenging process and not all organizations that have applied have garnered this acknowledgement.
