Everbridge in action: Alert Loudoun notifies public, identifies injured man

Earlier this year, we proudly announced that Everbridge had been selected by the National Capital Region (NCR) to deliver emergency notifications, situational intelligence, and critical communications across the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. Since that announcement, we have successfully deployed our Unified Critical Communications Suite in numerous NCR jurisdictions, cities and counties across Maryland, Virginia, and DC.

Loudoun County, Virginia is one of those NCR jurisdictions that is actively utilizing Everbridge. Last week the County’s mass notification alert program, Alert Loudoun (powered by Everbridge), made headlines by distributing a message seeking public assistance in identifying a senior citizen who was found in Ashburn, VA. The man was injured and lacked identification. According to news channel WUSA-9, on Wednesday morning, September 3rd, Loudoun County officials used Alert Loudoun to “notify the public about an unidentified injured man in Ashburn.” Roughly two hours later, the family had received the message, the man was properly identified, and transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital.

The Everbridge team was proud to learn of this successful use of our system. It’s gratifying when users effectively deploy our critical communication solutions, especially when they can be used to help reunite family members during unfortunate situations. We’ll continue to share similar stories like this as citizens, employees and users of all types leverage Everbridge to deliver, respond, and collaborate during critical events and situations.
