“Keep calm and notify” (part 2)

It has been a busy week involving a lot of late nights and early mornings, with travel to England, Scotland and Wales. My main focus has been preparation for the upcoming webinars and meeting clients to discuss uses cases, such as;

“How can I send a notification to a site and include the people who normally work there… and any travellers?”  The answer is that you can use your badging system to track who comes on and off you site. This would update a contracts and their position on the Universe with the current office location as they swiped a badge. Very useful if you have regular travelers to your site, have multiple buildings or need to know when a person is in a building.

By applying similar processes and technology it is also possible to integrate any positioning software to pinpoint a person, vehicle or other item in near real time….allowing you to notify only those people who are in a specific location. To enable this functionality, it would require the system of record that holds the address or GIS data to be accessible via an API so the data can be loaded in to Everbridge. Alexion Pharmaceuticals is a great example of an Everbridge customer that has accomplished this effectively to integrate Everbridge and their badging system.

Finding use cases such as the above is something that can really give you a competitive advantage for a small investment. Simply being able to target communications and be sure you have got all of your people or assets as they move about gives you peace of mind and can save lives and money.
