“This is a major step forward for state and local governments in meeting their top responsibility: safeguarding the health and welfare of residents. Whatever the situation, the emergency alert system means far more people will get the word far more quickly. The more information we are able to provide people the better they will be able to prepare and respond.”

Connecticut leads U.S. with statewide rollout of Everbridge emergency notification system

In 2009, the State of Connecticut was the first in the U.S. to have a statewide emergency notification system that allows officials to ensure continuity of communications across the state, spanning all municipalities, counties, cities, and towns. According to Governor M. Jodi Rell, “This is a major step forward for state and local governments in meeting their top responsibility: safeguarding the health and welfare of residents. Whatever the situation, the emergency alert system means far more people will ‘get the word’ far more quickly. The more information we are able to provide people the better they will be able to prepare and respond.”
