Boston Power Outage Brings Arnold Worldwide Back to Everbridge for Resilient Emergency Notification
Los Angeles, CA – May 30, 2012
(Marketwire) Arnold Worldwide, an award-winning global communications company, has re-signed with Everbridge, a provider of leading incident notification and management solutions. The company licensed Everbridge after having difficulties using a solution from a different provider while trying to contact their employees at their Boston headquarters during a major power failure.
Arnold Worldwide had been an Everbridge client until December 2011 when it chose to discontinue its contract in an attempt to reduce corporate expenses. Shortly thereafter, in March 2012, a large section of Boston experienced a major power failure that left more than 20,000 businesses and residences without power for days. During this incident, Arnold tried with limited success to utilize a pay-as-you-go text notification provider to alert its employees to the situation. Unfortunately, the system failed and Arnold was unable to reach all of its employees. Following the failure and multiple vendor evaluations, Arnold Worldwide selected Everbridge to provide a resilient emergency notification and incident management solution to their organization.
“The great thing about Everbridge is how resilient the system is,” said Greg Folsom, senior vice president and IT director at Arnold Worldwide. “When we evaluated the low-budget providers, it was hit or miss. I know that if an emergency occurs, I can rely on the Everbridge system to both be accessible and to quickly broadcast the messages — just as I expect it to work. With Everbridge, I don’t have to worry.”
With the industry’s only elastic infrastructure and some of the most advanced mobile notification capabilities, Everbridge ensures that messages can be delivered from anywhere at any time, even under the most challenging conditions.
“System resiliency could not be more important. With the Everbridge system, users can initiate multi-modal (email, SMS, landline, mobile, etc.) communications from anywhere using mobile devices and can be confident that their messages will be delivered,” said Imad Mouline, chief strategy officer, Everbridge. “In fact, we designed the system specifically to perform in even the worst conditions, sipping bandwidth while meeting performance expectations.”
