As aptly stated on the cover of Newsweek’s April 2011 edition, “Tsunamis. Earthquakes. Nuclear Meltdowns. Revolutions,” the increasing number and frequency of crises worldwide is growing, creating an absolute requirement for organizations to implement and manage emergency communication systems. Compounding this situation is an explosion in the number of devices and communication channels – from email to text messaging to mobile phones, home phones and more – that is rapidly accelerating the demand for highly-scalable and reliable notification solutions.
Everbridge’s acquisition of CloudFloor will enhance the company’s market leading Everbridge AwareTM, Everbridge SmartGISTM and Everbridge MatrixTM solutions to meet the growing customer need for faster, more reliable and more cost-effective notification solutions. The acquisition will further accelerate Everbridge’s growth by expanding the company’s operational footprint to include new East Coast, European and Asian offices, increasing the company’s financial resources and adding significant management talent to the Everbridge team.
As part of the acquisition, CloudFloor’s CEO, Jaime Ellertson, has been appointed CEO of the combined organization. A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Ellertson served as the CEO of Gomez Inc. from 2005 to 2010. He led the company through a period of rapid growth and market domination, until the sale of Gomez to Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) in October of 2009. Prior to Gomez, he served as the Chief Executive Officer, President and a director of S1 Corporation (NASDAQ: SONE), a software provider to the financial services marketplace from 2000 to 2005. From 1997 to 2000, he orchestrated the highly successful turnaround of public software provider Interleaf Inc., Under his leadership as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board , Interleaf Inc. saw its public market capitalization increase over 5,000% culminating in its acquisition by Broadvision Inc. (NASDAQ: BVSN) in April 2000.
“I’m excited to join and lead the market leader in notification solutions,” stated Jaime Ellertson, Chief Executive Officer of Everbridge. “We believe that this acquisition provides us the opportunity to deliver game-changing new solutions to the incident notification marketplace by combining Everbridge’s superior reputation for delivering industry-leading notification services with CloudFloor’s technology, global reach and engineering team.”
