Everbridge Awarded Key Technology Patents for Emergency and Non-Emergency Notification Systems

Patented Notification Technology Will Help Everbridge Maintain its Competitive Advantage in the Marketplace.

LOS ANGELES, CA – April 26, 2011 – Everbridge, the world’s recognized leader in incident notification systems, today announced that it has been granted U.S. Patents Nos. 7,664,233 and 7,895,263 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The technology in patent award 7,664,233 relates to emergency and non-emergency notification systems, and protects Everbridge’s unique sequential approach to sending out notifications based on a pre-determined order. This sequential notification process is critical in preventing notification overload and message fatigue, a situation that arises when messages are blasted to all of a recipient’s devices simultaneously. Instead, this sequential process sends messages to a recipient’s preferred device first, and then sequentially moves to the second, third or more preferred devices until the recipient acknowledges receipt. This process provides the fastest possible delivery speeds by ensuring maximum efficiency in communications resource utilization, and prevents recipient confusion by delivering messages sequentially to avoid message overload. The patent was filed in June of 2004.

“This patent award further validates our investment in providing the fastest notification process possible,” said Cinta Putra, Everbridge’s CEO. “As an industry pioneer, we were able to assess the right approach to sending notifications quickly, faster than our competitors, and this patent award further reinforces our technology lead in the market.”

Patent number 7,895,263 establishes for emergency and non-emergency notification systems, a unique approach to sending geographic notifications based on both contact information contained in an R911 database and also contact information provided by the message recipient through a registration process. This unique approach of combining sources for contact information ensures that the most accurate and relevant contact data sets are utilized to reach the targeted audience.

The combination of these two technologies provides the most compelling solution for organizations looking for the widest array of methods for notifying an audience. This intellectual property is one of the key reasons for why Everbridge is considered the pre-eminent emergency notification provider in the market today.
Mrs. Putra continued, “Today’s patent award announcements further validates the investments we have made in our intellectual property innovations over the last eight years. We intend to fully realize the value this intellectual property provides and to capitalize on these technological advantages to help us maintain our leadership role in the notification market.”
