Everbridge Emergency Notification System Used to Save Lives during New England Storms and Floods

LOS ANGELES, CA – April 08, 2010 – Everbridge, the world’s recognized leader in incident notification systems, today announced that organizations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island used the company’s emergency notification system to issue flood warnings during the worst rain storms that New England has seen in over 200 years. States, cities, hospitals, and disaster preparedness/support organizations used the Everbridge solution to deliver time-sensitive, crucial information to ensure the safety of their audiences during the floods.

Everbridge clients across New England used the Everbridge Aware® system to notify their residents, employees, medical personnel, and first responders of floods, road closures, shelter locations, and power outages. In Boston, a chapter of the American Red Cross used Everbridge to contact volunteers, secure emergency supplies and maintain open channels of communications with emergency personnel.

According to the Connecticut State Police, the CT ALERT-ENS (emergency notification system) performed exactly as it was designed, and has been successful in sending out hundreds of thousands of messages to residents in different locations throughout the State during its state of emergency. Emergency personnel and community leaders were very pleased to see the successful adoption and usage of the CT ALERT-ENS in protecting the people of Connecticut.
