NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory Keeps Cool during Massive Los Angeles Station Fire with Everbridge
Science and Technology Facility Uses Emergency Notification System to Accomplish Safety and Awareness Mission throughout Blaze
LOS ANGELES, CA – September 15, 2009 – Everbridge, the world’s recognized leader in incident notification systems, today announced that NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) used the Everbridge AwareTM emergency notification system to maintain emergency communications with its 7,200 employees, contractors and affiliates during the destructive Station Fire that charred the Angeles National Forest.
From the onset of the fires through containment efforts, JPL leveraged the Everbridge emergency notification service to mobilize response groups; send critical information about the status of the Laboratory to personnel; coordinate situation updates and reports with executives; and activate voluntary urban search and rescue (USAR) teams.
“With a long culture of innovation, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s contributions to NASA, science and technology are too many to name,” said Cinta Putra, Chief Executive Officer for Everbridge. “We are honored to have played a vital role in JPL’s emergency communications during this tragic wildfire.”
