The Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (OEMHS) initiated a process of reaching out to private schools via preparedness workshops to ensure they had safety procedures in place. In addition, the agency created a special alert process through Everbridge to ensure the 116 private schools in the area could also receive critical emergency alerts from the County.
